Have you ever noticed how we tend to categorize our days as life unfolds. In other words, if everything goes the way I wanted it to go that day, then I generally say, ‘This was a good day!’ But I’ve been thinking lately, who am I to decide if a day is “good” or “bad”?
To say that a day is bad is to say that God made a bad day! That’s impossible though! Reason? Because only good can come from God and everything He creates is good! So if this is true (and it is) then in reality there is no such thing as a “bad” day! Now grant it, bad things can happen in a day, but that doesn’t mean that the day in and of itself is bad. I’m laughing as I type this because I know that by now you are probably wondering, ‘where is he going with all this?’
Well, let me explain. I’ve learned that while on this earth there is no perfect life! Things happen that we don’t like simply because we live in a fallen world! When sin entered in through the fall of man, so did many problems and imperfections and every one of us are affected by sin in one way or another. The enemy loves to try to get us to look at the bad things in life. If he can, and believe me he will try, he will get your full undivided attention and try and make each and every day of your life miserable! Don’t let him!
Remember, every day is God’s gift to you. Each day is beautiful, unique and different from the day before. Everyday is an opportunity to get to know Him, to love Him and to serve Him! To live for Him and to breath in His beauty and His majesty! Oh how glorious and wonderful is our God! You see, everyday is a good day simply because, He, God, made that day! Yes, bad things can happen to us in a day that He has made, but, He has promised that no matter how dark that day may become, that He Himself, not an angel or any other creature, but He, God, personally will hold our hand and walk with us in our times of darkness and lead us through the storms of life! He, God himself, has promised to stay with us until the storm subsides! Yes, our God will personally see us through and get us safely to the other side. Therefore, my conclusion is that there are no “bad” days! Because it’s in those “bad” days that I sense His presence, His strength, His love and His power more than any other time in my life! Every single day is a gift! Every single day is an opportunity to get to know my God better! Every day is a “good” day!
I pray that you will seek the good things in life and see the works of His mighty hand! Every day is a canvas for God to paint a beautiful picture of the character of His heart! Look closely and you will see God in everything!
